Phew this one was the hardest for me. I started out well and decided to emboss a new SU EF I had not used. I should have stopped there...LOL.
I decided to watercolour the stems to make them pop. Got a few blotches but hey leaves aren't perfect...my story and I'm sticking to it!
I then stamped a dragonfly and started watercolouring that. So far so good. Die cut the dragonfly and that's where it went wrong again...it cut wrong and no time to create another one. What now?
I spot a heap of floral embellishments sitting on my desk and sieve through them and just keep adding stuff until I think its ok. I hid as many bugs as I could and popped others up.
It's at this stage I spot my dragonfly sitting on a stamp set...perfect sentiment. Unfortunately my stamping leaves a lot to be desired, but I got there in the end.
TFL. Happy day. Phew the old ticker is a pumping!

Jayne, I saw your post on the chat thread and immediately knew you must have accidentally put your card into the private hostess area ;-). You need to make sure to look further down the list for a whole list of all the VSN challenges, and this one is at the top of the list. I'm glad that it gavevmeca chance to see this, what a beauty and very impressive for the time frame and your first VSN. I used to be quite a slow creator and really struggled with the original 45 minute limit. The challenges certainly helped me create faster. I love all the dimension in this and your fun bugs, especially the grasshopper and shimmery dragonflies.

Love the dimension on your card and the fun bugs too. Great job on your first VSN. I use to struggle too but they get easier. I learned to have a few colored images I could pull from and then when I did not have a colored image to pull out a few dies and EFs to make fun quick cards.

I love this! Your card is like spring exploded, with all the colors and different elements (bugs, leaves, dragonflies, etc.). I love the watercoloring of the ef leaves, too - I think it looks great! The bits of glitter remind me of a spring shower that just passed by, leaving droplets on the petals.
