I got this Kimono pattern from an old SU idea book and enlarged it. The pattern looked really easy, but I struggled to get the fold of the sleeves just right and wrecked my first try. At least NOW I have the proper pattern to remake this again in the future. I used a Chinese lantern embossing folder for added texture and put a dark blue silhouette of a Chow dog on the back of the kimono. Photo is a bit blurry and the colors are better in person.

First of all I'm glad you're feeling better and could participate in my challenge.
Your kimono looks great and I'm happy you made this, I was first hesitating myself if i should make a kimono or a lampion...I love our gallery with all these fun Asian or doggies cards,
Thank you so much for this beauty!!

Hope you are feeling better! This is going to be such a great surprise for our guest of honor. I mean, getting a kimono! How special is that? It is just lovely, too. So glad you were able to come to tea.

I love the colours you used in this, Lori, they have a very authentic look. What a great use for washi tape, too - it's hard to imagine anything else looking just that perfect. Lovely to see you at the tea-party this week.
And I know what you mean on the folding, I've tried Lydia's paper doll tutorial several times and I always struggle to get it looking quite right, sigh...
