This week's featured stamper is Amy Marshall. Amy has a lovely gallery filled with inspiration. I finally settled on this lovely birthday card: Birthday for Moma by Kalla Walla at Splitcoaststampers The crackle embossing made me think of the gilded faux silk tutorial so I went with that.
I kept the pink color scheme and the birthday card theme with a cake as a focal image. (I love her cake image, so pretty!) But I changed the layout and used faux silk instead of that fabulous crackle ef.
I pulled candles from three different stamp sets and stamped them on the tissue paper. After crinkling the tissue paper, I adhered it to cs sprayed with adhesive. I followed the tutorial by gilding the tissue paper and then sponging.
I sponged around the cake and the heat embossed sentiment. This is take two. My first version has the cake and sentiment matted on black. After finishing it, I thought I'd like it better matted with white. Funny thing is, that our house is divided on which version they like best. My DDs and I prefer the white matted one, my DH likes this one best!
Amy, your gallery is gorgeous. Congratulations.
Thanks for looking!
