I also used some of Kate Crane's techniques for the panels but I changed up the geli plate (I don't have one) to a piece of aluminum foil. I crumbled up the foil and swiped some ink on it. Slpashed with water and then placed my paper on it. For the base panel, I also stamped on some script font and splatter (using a stamp). I didn't have good base for my birds so I stamped some wood grain and sponged it really dark (then splattered on more water). Did some faux sewing around the bottom base and also used some caps dipped in white paint and my finger tip too. Super fun - I want to make bgs all day but have to babysit.
Congrats, Amy. Your gallery is so cool - enjoy your week and thanks for the inspiration.

Well this went right into my favorites. I'm going to make an attempt at casing your card, Nancy. I know you kept the colors and theme, but this card is really extraordinary!! WOW!

I love that you clustered your birds as a trio and that sentiment is just great too
plus you know the usual, the colors and textures grabbed my attention right off the bat Nancy. tfs.

Fantabulous! Those little birds are so precious. I love all the details you got in your backgrounds. Isn't it fun? I may sit here all day and play with Kate's ideas. Thanks so much for sharing your card!

Wow! I love the splattered background you created with your crumpled foil and especially love the touch of script you added. This is very creative! The soft blue on the second layer is gorgeous with all the brown.
