Hi, sweet friends! I am happy to be joining in the fun of making Christmas cards this year for the Dirty Dozen Christmas Challenge here at SCS! I'm so excited to be making Christmas cards early -- finally!
I have to say that I lost my mojo and just had to push through this card. I received this absolutely darling stamp set from a dear friend, and I stamped it and decided to sit and color. I started with the holly leaves and was really struggling and then moved to adding some shadows to the leaves and the circle. Next, I colored the sweet Christmas cardinals. I've learned to color red near the end (anyone else learn that the hard way?). I added just a wee bit of Wink of Stella on the snow and the hat trim and pom-pom. The sentiment is from the set, and I used my MISTI to add it and then die cut the circle and adhered it to a red scalloped circle base. The base back is the same and adhered with SU's Fast Fuse. Wow, is that ever sticky/tricky stuff! (Any suggestions about how to use it well?) Anyway, this is done, and now I will hide it from DH till Christmas.
We hope you get inspired and join us as we make our 2018 Christmas cards throughout the year! We're having fun already. Much love, and warm hugs to you all! xoxo

Super cute image and beautifully coloured Cheryl. You could colour those cute little birds as (British) robins too - very traditional on cards over here! The scalloped card base suits the image so well. Maybe I should check out the challenge, I always leave Christmas cards late in the day!

Ooh, how wonderful it is to see you in the gallery, Cheryl!!! You created a fantastic piece of art with the beautifully colored image. The cardinals are gorgeous with their lovely hats, and I love that you created a circular card, my special sis!! If I use red, Cheryl, I do it first so if I mess up, I've not upset as I've not colored the remaining parts of the image! LOL Hugs, my dear friend!!!

What a gorgeous card! If I didn't know any better.... it looks like it could be confused with a needle point or cross stitch piece of artwork! I love it!

Cheryl, your card just lept off the gallery when I took a look. Your coloring (something that I struggle with) is SO beautiful, and against that bright white, well, WOW!!! I was especially impressed with your shading in light blue around your image at the bottom. I so appreciate when I can learn from cardmakers like yourself who are so very talented and are so willing to share what works and what does not--thank you!!!
I think that your husband is going to LOVE this card when he receives it.
Thank you for the gift of you, I so appreciate your encouragement to me and I see your comments on other cards and you are always uplifting and encouraging, and I wanted you to know just how thankful I am for you!
Cheryl, this is so beautiful! I hope it felt a little better to create? Sometimes the act of creating perks me up a bit. Your card is simply stunning! Your red coloring is exquisite!!!
