MMTPT497 Starry Night

Photo Details
Poster: Cook22

This is my card for Polly's inspirational Lend An Ear Tickle a Teapotter challenge.

What I really wanted to do was created a galaxy background with little sunflowers for stars, but I'm still struggling after being sick, and compromised with this.

For my sky, instead of watercolours as in the Outer Space tutorial (link in Polly's challenge), I sprayed my card with cobalt acrylic spray, and then sprinkled some Brusho powder over it and misted with water. When dry, I spattered with dilute white acrylic and stamped all my stars with DOX Wild Honey. It wasn't quite as yellow as I was hoping, so after adding the layer of SN clear glitter pen, I went over them.all with a yellow Sharpie.
The foreground is simply the die cut from Kraft with yellow card behind for the windows, and some of the detailed bits sponged with brown and inlaid.
I edged it with a white gel pen, added it to done crimped sunflower yellow card and a black base. Fun to make, but I'm still dreaming of my sunflower stars! I was meant to be off work today and was planning to play, but I was asked if I could go in .

Sabrina...I do believe you've invented a wonderful new bg that is AWESOME...or is there already a name given and a tutorial somewhere? I think it really is awesome! Love your little village with gold light peaking through the windows...somewhere out in the netherlands (because there are only two buildings! Remind me of driving out on the freeway in the almost uninhabited bits of the world and every now and then in the darkness you'd see a building or two popping up!

I think Vinnie would be rolling over in his grave at the wonder of this gem. Sabrina this is wonderful. I am always in awe of your talent, you are the only person I know who creates magic even when you are sick or recovering. I also love your teapot watermark.

This is magical and yes, it does look like sunflowers swirling around in your sky! I love that you were able to capture the sparkle of the sky in the photo. Amazing card! And I see you got out your crimper today ....hope you're fully recovered soon..that's an order!

How did I miss this one! So lovely! You've really captured the mood of the painting.

I love the way you experiment and come up with new techniques and then share them with us. This is so cool, Sabrina. Great idea. Very artistic. Very original.

what a beauteous compromise....I am so sorry you are still not all the way better....have you tried oregano oil....a couple drops and so helpful for ones immune system. Bit of cinnamon and honey in some water is good too. sorry back to this lovely piece of art. Your sky is wonderful. Love your idea with the sunflower as stars...he-he...so creative you are. But these are so sparkly I can just imagine standing there and looking up and admiring their joy they are bringing tis little town.
Keep getting stronger...in my prayers my friend...HUGS...TFS..:0)
