I needed a card for a friend of mine who just can't wrap his head around the fact that he will be 69 next week. I saw this festive card by KareBear51 and hope it will put some cheer into his special day!
Things I changed -used a split stamped sentiment - added LOTS more candles and used washi tape instead of die cuts.
I put bright strips of washi tape across the card front angling the tops just slightly and drew some tiny wicks with a sharpie. I was going to fussy cut flames but then remembered the leaf cluster in my SB Elegant branch set - They made super flame shapes when cut out of goldenrod cardstock! I added just a bit of orange to the bottom edges with prisma pencil. Used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to separate my sentiment so I could put part across the top and part on my bottom banner strip.
Thanks, Karen, for the inspiration !!

What a festive birthday card this is! Into my favourites it goes! Love your selection of DP's and the way you made your flames. Thanks for sharing the details. Great card!

I knew just what card you cased and what a great idea to use washi tape for the candles. The flames are perfect! That touch of embossing gives them some movement. Great card for your friend.
