I got out two old tools that have not been used in a long while. One was the crimper and the other was that thing that looked like a nasal suction device (not sure what it was actually called). The crimper worked fine. I got out my old SU watercolor markers to use this other device on and I never did find one that would work. I guess my old markers are not so juicy anymore. So, I spritzed some oxide ink on to my TH work pad, then used this device to blow the ink around. Then I got the idea to use some of my reinker ink, so that brown ink was some that I blew around on the paper with that device. I think that tool was probably my biggest waste of money ever spent. It must be almost 20 years old, so why do I still own it, I wonder.
The card was partially made from a previous project, so I got out this old bird that hasn't seen the light of day in awhile, and fussy cut him to sit on my branch I made with the blown ink.

Ha, I would have liked my crimper to be an old unused tool but since I got a good one last year I use it more. The texture and spray on this look great. A spray diffuser? I know that's what the thing Winsor & Newton sell for spritzing inks is called. But if yours fitted to markers it must be a bit different. The colours in this are fab, I love the deep blue bird against the purples.

Wonderful card! I love this bird on a branch with the wonderful feather falling down. Your wonderful purple spritz bg really highlights your fancy bird. I love the heart brad you used here too. I do not use my crimping tool nearly enough either, but I really like how you used it. I hear you on the spritzing tool- I have never used mine, sadly enough. And mine still sits in the drawer too (so you have company my friend). You have made a unique and lovely Valentine card that is sure to delight the recipient. ~Karen.

I believe the tool is called a spritzer! Maybe😇 I have added a touch of water to my marker to get it to work...in fact, I might try it! Your creation is lovely. The colors you used are awesome.

LOL! I think I have that same tool (from your description) and just like you, I can never get it to work properly with my markers! Also, like you, it is probably one of my biggest wastes of money, and also, "why do I have it still?". hahaha : )
That said, you got it to make an awesome branch for your bird to rest on ~ this is a lovely collage.

I got out my crimper too. It was a bit dusty!!! I have that spritzer too, and I LOVE mine. I use it a lot. Give it a try with some newer markers. I love your "old bird", and adding the branch really worked. Great addition of the purple heart, mf!

I've got that spritzer too and it is just as unloved as yours. Great way to use it, I'll have to try that. Love how the ink blew into a branch pattern for your pretty bird. And bonus for bringing out your crimper too! Thanks for giving an old tool some love and playing in my challenge.

Thanks for the tip about the bg stamps being used in collages. Loving your artsy creations. Smiling here...your crimper is straight....many times mine was crooked. TFS

ha, I never caved on that tool I could never get my demo's to work... but, it looks like yours worked just fine for you Liz, I like the splatters. and that sounds cool that you can suck up ink drips instead of just having a marker to make it work too.
