Our teaparty this week is for "Aunt Betty", introduced to us by fellow teapotter Greenie aka irishgreensue and hosted by Pat aka casep
This started out as a 5 x 7 card. I had weirdo arty embossing in the top left corner and a bunch of farm yard chickens wearing boots were all cut and coloured ready to be stuck on. Then I said to myself, "self, do you really think that is suitable for a 90 year old lady who appreciates scripture". I left the clear embossing in the bottom corner. Betty likes lots of details, also if I cut that off too, she would be receiving an ATC!
Plan B was quickly put into action, I cut off the weirdo arty corner and converted the coloured panel to fit a 5" square card.
I made the scene using the smack and squirt technique, ironing spray and blending sponges. Smack distress ink onto aluminium foil, squirt on some ironing spray and then mop up the puddle with foam blending tool and scrub onto card.
I lightly sprayed the entire panel with a final mist of ironing spray. The big blobs are a result of not shaking the spray can enough, but I quite like the look so I left it. Had I wanted to make the background more uniform, it would just be a matter of sponging on more colour.
Once the panel was nice and dry, I stamped on a little leafy stamp (to resemble trees in the distance) then I stamped the big tree and lots of dots. I doodled a white fence and faux stitched border.
After I mounted the panel to the card base I added a gazillion liquid pearls and stamped on the sentiment using MISTI. Thank you for looking, I hope you have a happy inky week.

Chickens wearing boots ..now why didn't I think of that! This is so lovely and peaceful looking. I think I'm going to have to buy stock in liquid pearls the way you're using them...Aunt Betty will be pleased receiving such a wonderful card all the way from Down Under.

------------------------------ We as people are raindrops of colorful ink , falling down Crisp and Clear, each a different shade more vibrant then the last, but once we realize at the bottom of an endless abyss we all fall into the same inkpot forming one color, only then can we come together as one My son.
Well, your description had me smiling! I am sure Aunt Betty would have been tickled by your birds but she will also be moved by this. It's quite stunning!!! Is there any scripture in the whole Bible more peaceful than this one? You created a stunning scene. I am sure she is going run her fingers lovingly over all those wonderful leafy dots!

Oh Susie, I enjoy your write-ups as much as I enjoy your stunning cards- and this is just incredible. Aunt Betty is going to be so delighted with this gorgeous card you made for her. Your backgrounds are masterpieces in and of themselves, then you add the tree and wild flowers and all these liquid pearls and I am speechless. Wow! What a terrific scripture verse to add to this beautiful card you have made. I hope we will be seeing those chickens wearing boots real soon though? That has me smiling from ear-to-ear. Hugs! ~Karen.

Susie, I am sure that Aunt Betty will love this marvelous card, just like we all love your work!! The tree and foliage are so beautiful with all the liquid pearls, and the fence that you drew is so like a farm fence. The sky is so marvelous as is the grass. Most importantly, the scripture is perfect for the occasion. I do wish you had included the chickens with boots as I suspect she would have gotten a great chuckle! LOL Great masterpiece, my precious Susie!!
