I loved this style card when a friend showed it to me, so I wanted to try it. Actually, I like my design better than the original that I CASED (smile), which makes me feel quite proud.
I was trying to illustrate what could be done with one stamp set that was fairly inexpensive, and just BLACK ink (if you don't have a lot of colors) -- I did cheat in that I used blender pens and ink to add some color, but I figured folks could do that with markers, too.
Usually I like more "vintage" looking stuff, with frills and bows, but this card made me get into more contemporary stuff, and it is pushing me in a new direction, which is also cool!
I held my first Stamp Camp on the small island where I live. Though it was sparsely attended due to great weather and poor timing and little advertising, I did manage to get 4 attendees and $150 in orders -- so I am pretty proud of that.
Even cooler is that I designed and made all the samples, folks finished them all in the allotted time, and everyone really learned a lot! (Including me...)
It is amazing how I was able to design cards using certain tools to showcase their use/value -- and how helpful it was to design in my head before getting to the studio.
I became a demonstrator only 3 1/2 months ago, on the day my daughter was born -- so all of these cards were designed while nursing her, and made when Daddy could hold her and let me work. Being forced to design and think it through in my head when I cannot work has really led me to interesting places!
