For my sweet niece and her husband. I incorporated lace from my mother's 1951 wedding dress; the dress went through a total make-over 6 or 7 years ago (without the lace). As my mother's grandchildren marry, I make each a wedding card incorporating lace from their grandma's wedding dress.
I wanted to include a celtic heart of 3 strands, incorporating Bible verse from Ecclesiastes' 'Cord of three strands is not easily broken'.
Instructions to make the celtic heart are found here: http://diyreal.com/diy-celtic-heart-knot-necklace/

Beautifully done. I know those knots are not easy to tie, you've done it beautifully! And using the lace is so special, a real heirloom card.
I still remember piping about twenty of those knots to make decorations for my brother's wedding cake...his bride was wearing a remodel of her grandmother's wedding dress and the knot was one of the design elements in the lace.
