Mary is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us some beautiful colors to start off our new year: Chocolate Chip, Sweet Sugarplum and Mint Macaron. And since it's a new year, the dessert option is to use something new—new stamps, new die, new technique.
I loved the way these colors went together, and jumped on the dessert option with brand new (to me) stamps and dies. The big dahlia flower was made with the Concord & 9th Dahlia turnabout stamp. The stamp is designed so that you ink up one color, stamp (then clean the stamp), turn the stamp (or the cardstock—easy if you're using a stamp positioner), ink it up in another color, etc. I added metallic gold as a neutral to complete the four-color flower.
Then I used a clever die set from Cool Cuts to create my "thanks" greeting. A little Wink of Stella on the insides of the letters and a sweet little Sugarplum bow finish off my card.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week. And a Happy New Year to YOU!

Awesome card, Barbara! I love dahlias (no surprise, right?) both as stamps and IRL. This stamp is on my wish list and I LOVE what you did with it, adding the gold petals and the pretty sentiment. It's a real beauty!

What a pretty dahlia Barbara!! I like the way you added gold to the pretty color palette!! The bow in the corner is a nice embellishment as well - I'm always so impressed to see those. I can't tie a bow of any size. :>)

This is just gorgeous with today's colors and that little bow in the corner is so sweet. I love the function of the turnabout to create magnificent color patterns as you did! This stamp is on it's way to me now and I can't wait to ink it up.

This card is so pretty it pops right out the gallery! Fun! This week's colors work perfectly for your gorgeous dahlia and the added gold gives this that wonderful touch of elegance I love so much. Your fancy thank you and sweet little bow are the perfect finishing touches on your card! ~Karen.
