This is my card for this week's Teapot Tuesday challenge - you can find all the details HERE after it has gone live. This guitar is travelling to Hawaii. Weird coincidence, the day after I showed the card to DH he found a YouTube video from a guitar maker who used to live in HI.
I tried out a new-to-me tutorial from our Tutorials section - the Guitar Card. I will say that it was a brilliant tutorial and the attention to detail - little things like embossing the cream card to create the saddle - was brilliant. But I found the wood veneer that I have hard to work with. When I cut the front in half and rotated half as Carol suggested, that was OK. But then I put it through the BS to cut the hole - and both pieces warped and one stretched more than the other. So I had to carefully pull them off the card base, cut a hole in a new piece of card and then carefully glue them back on to that. I probably will make one of these again for DH at some stage (he sacrificed the plectrum), but I will probably just use faux wod. Otherwise it was great fun to make. As a token hint of green, I used Mizhuki cord and green wire for the strings. I was afraid at first that I might have strung it left-handed - but was reassured when I went back downstairs and checked DH's.

Wow! This is absolutely incredible Sabrina. I am so impressed how you used the brads, the use of thread for the strings, the gorgeous gold mirror paper on the black and the pick! It looks really real and I know it is something Lambert will truly appreciate. Bless you for doing this! ~Karen.

Yep, all strings done correctly. Great, great job--I thought of ukeleles--one of my favorite instruments. Very creative, lots of detail and very, very clever.
