I have wanted to try bokeh for awhile and Thursday's pick your own tutorial challenged seemed a good time to try. . .Taped down my watercolor paper - wet it - and randomly applied cherry and celestial blue. Then off to work I went while it dried - whoops - still damp when I came home (maybe I used a BIT too much water) In the meantime I found some small circle dies and cut them into a piece of acetate for my stencil. Eventually, I started sponging various sized circles over my watercolor and then awaited the drying again. . . I finished by matting my bokeh piece in black adding my words of wisdom (friday free for all) and embossing with black Powder and adding a few iridescent sequins - I think I may have need a bit more frost white on some of my circles but I consider this a good first try at the bokeh technique and I will definitely do it again when I have plenty of time to wait for the drying.

Linda, this is beautiful! I can't believe your first layer still wasn't dry when you got home from work... or maybe I can given my experience with the acrylic reveal! I don't know that you need more contrast, I think the soft look is very effective, especially with your chosen background colours. And the sequins look super.

Love this and I think you did a great job. I tried that technique once and it sure didn't look this good. I need to try it again.
