 | | Hurrah for an early post for the MIX challenge and a quick temporary fix to my computer issues. Work, shopping, computer fixed and still time for a daylight photo .
Mediums: gesso, DOX inks, Brusho powders, Brusho acrylic shimmer spray.
I took Janelle's suggestion of stamping text on a solid chipboard shape - first I coated the bird with gesso, and then sponged on the colour with masking, then stamped the text.
He's perched on a mini canvas. I bought some for a project and mis-stamped on this one. Six coats of gesso later and the stamping still showed through, so I thought I'd add a scrap of Tissue Paper Watercolor left from a recent TLC. It had been created using Brusho powders and Acrylic Shimmer Mist. I used Mod Podge to stick it to the canvas panel, then stamped and embossed the IO Script Cover-a-Card with gold. Added the bird, music notes and a scored frame. In some ways I think the bird needs a branch to perch on, but I don't want to clutter things up. He has some slight feathering drawn in with a white gel pen around his face, a half pearl for his eye and I used a Sharpie for the beak. |
