Another week when there has been no MIX challenge in time for me to play along.
Here's my own mixed media fun, using the outer space background tutorial linked in thisweek's WT challenge.
While I was away from home last week I had a request for an 18th birthday card for a girl into technology and Harry Potter. I said I couldn't do anything about technology but would a Hedwig-ish owl do, and the answer was yes.
So, I created my background (getting late in the day here and hard to capture the sparkle in the sky, but the inset shows it a little better). Layered it behind a window, then added some more DP for a floor to ground the books. Books and owl stamped on white card, coloured with pencils (gold pen for details on the books) and cut out. To add to the snowy owl look, I used yellow Enamel Accents for the eyes, and then added a centre with a black Sharpie. I added the die-cut letters, and will make an insert with a birthday greeting to go inside. Now I also need to make a thank-you card for the same commission, unless I can find something suitable in my stash.

How creative you are, Sabrina, with that cool Harry Potter owl. Whenever I use an animal on a card it turns out "Disneyish ". The bg through the window is perfect and looks great with the metallic raindrops.

I love your creativity Sabrina, your bg and window are beautiful and the coloring on your books and owl too, I love the different textures you obtained on this card. I was looking whole day long for one of the 2 challenges but didn't see any, I'll be on a Christmas market tomorrow and Sunday so won't be able to play again before Monday

The MM challenge was a non event but you sure made up for it. Everything about this is terrific Sabrina. Love the sky and terrific scene you have created for the very wise looking owl.
