This was sooo much fun to make. I just fell in love with this funky little turtle and his gold fish friend. The turtle and the swirly bg are one coloring page that I colored and fussy cut. I mounted each panel on craft foam. The 3rd flat layer is a Tim Holtz border stamped several times to make a frame. Sometimes if I am having a particularly accident prone day I will make a color copy of the image I spent too much time coloring...that way if it gets smudged, torn, or spontaneously erupts in fire I have a backup. Since I did not need the color copy, I used it to make the punched flowers. Now, there is an explanation why this works for the CT1017 CREEPY Crawly theme....a reason other than the fact that I don't follow rules too well. First, although the turtle is not creepy, he certainly does crawl. If you have ever had pet turtles in an aqusrium...my son's had 3 - one for each of them and a spare in case of an unexpected death - you might know that they poop at least 8 times their body weight per hour. The aquarium was definitely creepy frequently. Then there was the night when I accidently added too much water to the fish bowl and the little guy executed a perfect swan dive onto the kitchen floor while we were all sleeping. That was a creepy sight in the morning. So, I decided that this qualified for "creepy and crawly". TFL, Francie

Gorgeous colouring as always. The floral detail in the corner is something you always carry off so well, this one is fabulous. This reminds me so much of the Discworld novels, and is a little like some of the book covers, although your turtle is much cuter than the great A'tuin. I like the contrast of the black and white border with the vivid colours. And tree decoration hangers?? Genius idea. I must look for some. Mine are ugly green plastic-coated wire.

FIRST of all this card is just a squeal of delight at every corner. SECOND your write up had me laughing out loud! AND it reminded me of when my brother brought home two little turtles he "saved" when he worked for the highway dept. They grew so big my mother devoted the main floor bathroom bathtub for their living space. That was always a surprise conversation piece for any guest coming to our house! Cool card!
