This card was made for Try Stampin' -Or Not- On Tuesday sketch challenge #350: http://trystampinontuesday.blogspot.com/ with the optional theme "Smell the Goodies".
I've been doing so many holiday cards these past few weeks that I decided to catch up on birthday cards. I have a photo-polymer stamp set that doesn't have any identification on it, but it has cute cupcakes - one of which has a birthday candle. Perfect!
The card base is made with Stampin' Up! Rose Red cardstock in the standard 4-1/4"x 5-1/2" size folded in half. I cut a 4"x 5-1/4" panel of a pink floral patterned paper from SU's retired Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper. This panel was glued to the card base using Tombow Multi Liquid Glue.
The four Whisper White panels are all 1-1/4" wide. The long ones are 3-1/2" long. The smaller ones are 1-1/4" long (squares).
I used Stazon Jet Black Ink to stamp the sentiment and cupcakes. Then colored the cupcakes using SU Stampin' Write Markers in Rose Red, Mauve Mist, and Yoyo Yellow (for the flame).
The long and square panels were matted with Rose Red cardstock that was 1/4" wider/longer than the Whisper White stamped panels.
The long matted panels were glued down with Tombow glue, while the square cupcake panels were attached using Adhesive Foam Strips to raise them off the card front's surface to give extra depth to the card.
That's it. Quick and simple. So, I've given the card a difficulty rating of "2" (because of the hand coloring that is required).
