The Clean & Simple Challenge, CAS453 O Christmas Tree (10/30/17), was to make an card with a Christmas tree that would be unusual for you to make.
The odd color choice for this card was inspired by the die cut bow in SU Watermelon Wonder. It was leftover from a church bazaar project, and too darn cute to throw out.
I decided to use a new to me, contemporary style word die in the shape of a Christmas tree for the main image. ItÂ’s an unusual style for me to use, in fact after I got it, I wondered what I was going to do with it! This challenge provided an opportunity to use it, not just store it. ha...
Another unusual thing about this card, for me, is that I don’t “do” symmetrical when I design cards. This ended up being symmetrical, with the tiny exception of one tiny star bling in the word “Christmas”.
This challenge to make a Christmas tree that was out of the norm pushed me to look beyond my favorite colors and design style. The off-season color of the tree makes me cring a bit, but I do like that perky bow and the star bling. And best of all, I have a card to add to my Christmas stash!
Thanks for peeking!

Beautiful. Good for you to step out of the comfort zone. This is a fabulous card in so many ways. Love the die-cuts and the background embossing. The bow is so very cute. I can see why you saved it and used it for your muse. Well done! TFS
