The challenge is to use a technique starting with the first letter of my name. Since my name starts with an A, I decided to go with the Acrylic Batik tutorial. I created this card for a friend of my mom's, whose birthday is coming up soon. I got the inspiration for the herringbone by a card I found through Pinterest: https://vintagepagedesigns.com/herringbone-card/. I covered a piece of scrap cardstock with Stick It adhesive, and laid my paper strips in the herringbone pattern on that. When everything was down correctly, I burnished with my teflon bone folder, to make sure they wouldn't come up. I used the happy & birthday dies from My Favorite Things to die cut into that panel. I also die cut them from navy cardstock.
I created my background by stamping the "Leaves Background" stamp on a piece of tan cardstock, and clear heat embossing it. I squirted blue, yellow, & green paints onto my panel, and smooshed them around with a gift card. I let that dry, and then used a slightly-damp paper towel to buff the paint off the embossed areas.
I added a strip of navy cardstock to the top & bottom of my herringbone piece, and adhered it to my background, making sure to add adhesive all behind where the greeting would go. I inlaid the navy words into my panel. After I adhered the panel to a white card base, I added Nuvo Crystal Drops around the greeting.

Ooo, wonderful card! I love the inlaid sentiment! And your pieced background is just awesome!

This card is gorgeous - I pinned it to our hostess favorites board before I even commented. I was so caught by the perfection of your herringbone and navy accents that I might not have noticed the acrylic batik background... but every element of your card is just perfect. Thank you so much for playing along with my Falliday Fest challenge, and thanks for choosing one of my tutorials to use!
