I've been seeing sunsets like this all over these days, with the brown earth and the bare trees, and I wanted to try and replicate it on a card. I like how this turned out! It did take a little bit of planning ahead to get the placement just right and not smear things while I sponged. First, I stamped the whole scene onto a post it note using my stampamajig to get everything just where I wanted it. Then I used scissors to cut the mask in half right at the horizon line all the way across. I laid the bottom half of the mask onto a small piece of Whisper White and sponged the sky above it, starting with Regal Rose at the bottom and then coming down with Bashful Blue from the top, meeting in the middle to make a light purple. After the sky was sponged, I removed the mask and used my Stampamajig to stamp the trees from LAAT so that they would match up with the horizon line that I had sponged. I also stamped the big tree in the foreground from Nature Silhouettes, and extended the grasses out a bit more to the right with my Inkjoy black gel pen (it is AWESOME for adding to black stamping; it acts just like black stamping ink and blends in perfectly!!!). I also extended the horizon line between the LAAT trees and the big foreground tree with that pen. When everything was very, very dry, I carefully sponged the ground in Soft Suede, using the top of the post it mask that I made earlier to cover and protect the sky. The sentiment from GKD "Just Because" was heat embossed in gold, and the gold accents are echoed by the gold brads in the corner. I love how it turned out! TFL!
