Nope, you've done it perfectly right. I think the end result depends a bit on the outline stamps...I noticed Linda said she liked her tree but not how her bird turned out. I like this, it makes me think of those light displays when they project coloured lights onto buildings. Hmmm, now you have me thinking could I use this idea to make spotlights along one of my cityscapes. We love walking along the Seine at night and seeing the lights from the river cruisers light up all the buildings as they pass.

This is, I suspect a very subjective technique, limited only by the imagination of the creator and whether you want full coverage OR just literally spots of color. And I imagine even the SHAPE of the spot could change the whole tone of the pic - The long way to say there is NO WRONG approach . . .These definitely look like spotlights against your building - but now I've made myself curious as to how maybe rectangular spots might change the look??? Shadows of paint ?? Anyway - your card turned out great and I like the itty bitty ghost peeking out of the pickets.
