This is my "Happy" themed journal page for Stamperrobin's (aka Robin, my sistah from anudder mudder and Cali mate) Free For All challenge. I appreciate that Thelma, Louise and their next door neighbour, Morticia may not make everyone smile, but doing weird stuff like this makes me grin from ear to ear and very happy indeed.
The best part of a journal is, there are no rules, you simply do whatever makes you happy on the day. Colour co-ordinated hair, eyes and dresses make me happy, digi images makes me happy, getting excellent use out of a cook book makes me very happy. It certainly makes me happy to use up my liquid pearls before they clog up just like all the other bottles that have either thickened like cement or hemorrhage all over a card.
About my page, Thelma, Louise and Morticia started out life as a digi image by Vera Lane Studio, printed onto copy paper and then coloured with Prismacolour Pencils and Copic markers. Morticia's face is just pencils. All of their eyes are pencils and a white gel pen.
Tip: If you are using Copics over the top of pencils, especially waxy pencils like Prismacolour, you might want to clean them off a bit on a scrap of paper before putting them away.
The girls were fussy cut, torn in places and then adhered to the cookbook page. Because copy paper is very thin, the best way to adhere it and avoid lumps is to completely cover the paper with a glue stick. I use Bostik glue stick, I think Elmers glue stick are the same. It's just the normal cheap stick glue from the stationary store.
Thank you for looking, and I hope you get some craft-time to join in and fill the gallery with happiness! Have a good weekend everyone.

You make me smile with your story about your ladies. I like what you wrote, now I don't feel so bad about uploading my crazy eyes! They remind of the old time portraits that they wouldn't crack a smile! Love the coloring!

These girlies are weirdo indeed!! LOL! Poor things are half asleep, they must be at a lecture after staying up most of the night partying!!! At least they got dressed in the morning and didn't get mixed up with each others clothes! Wait a sec, is that a Chinese food menu in the bg? Oh, they are getting breakfast before class...hope they make it.
I love the way you do eyes! They are totally amazing sweet sistah! Love their coat dresses too! You did that with color pencils? I thought they were those distress crayons or something, a lot I know, eh?
Beautiful rich colors mate!

It is so fun reading your descriptions. It is half the fun of looking at your projects! The other half of course is actually seeing all your creation. These girls certainly do make me smile, and it tickles me that they are on a fried rice recipe! What a great way to use a cookbook. It would be a blast going through your journal. Thank you Susie for my morning entertainment with my first cup of tea!

I'm not sure whether to say I can think of a better use for the cookery book or not! I have to admit that any that I use would not be fit for upcycling at the end of their life as all the favourite recipe pages get stained over time. It's certainly a great use, and the girls look very striking against the black background. I do love the way you create their "capes" and garments on your other creations with such beautiful feathering and shading.

Oh, sis! I LOVE these gals and LOVE you! We all do and love your amazing imagination and storytelling...enchanting and more! I so love these gals, and it's clear these fun gals make you smile and be happy. I can imagine your sitting there coloring and cutting/tearing away as you decide what is next and on what to glue these darlings! Hehe! They are truly thinking about something very serious...like who is this woman who is making us? I love it and love you...you make me happy and smile!! xoxo
