I do a lot of thread crochet, so I have quite of few of the heavy cardboard tubes from the thread. These boxes started with a couple of those cardboard tubes. The bottoms and covers are made from cereal box chipboard. First I die cut the circles and then glued 4 layers together, before covering with navy cardstock and DP. The handles are made from wooden beads, with a dowel glued into the hole. The beads and any exposed edges were painted with cobalt blue acrylic paint. The underside of the covers have another 4 layer circle attached that fits into the box to hold the cover in place. Everything is coated with matte mod podge.
