The photos may be a little hard to see, so one is of gold miners in California in 1849 and the other is of the river where the miners were panning for gold. The men that went west were dreaming of getting rich and maybe finding a new place to settle. Very few stuck it rich though, but stayed and helped grow California into what it is today.

Wonderful images, the sentiment is perfect. The color combination contributes to a vintage feel. I live not far from that river where gold fever started.

col images! I live on a hwy called the golden chain hwy, it follows a line of gold mining towns in central Cal. Of course right now half of central Cal is on fire but that is where I live. Your images have a lot of meaning around these parts!
