For Dina's The Layered Look mixed media challenge.
Mediums used: DOX inks for sponging, white acrylic paint, and both Inktense and Polychromos pencils.
I spent over an hour last night looking for a piece of card with this image coloured in. Turned out I'd filed it in a different place. Anyway, for Dina's challenge I stamped it again and just used the base I had started working on last night for a quick finish.
Image stamped on watercolour paper, and colours laid down with Inktense pencils in a light wash. I took a photo at this stage and will add it in the challenge thread. Then I went in with Polychromos pencils to add more shading and depth. I smeared some Microglaze over the blossom and buffed some glitter in, hoping the glaze will act as a fixative when it dries!!
The base is Navaho stencil from TCW, sponged with DOX inks (at a guess twisted citron, peacock feathers and a little wilted violet), and edged with white acrylic paint. The mouse image I was finishing off last night is smaller and let more of the background show, but I thought it worked well with today's larger image too.

This really is a cute image to show Dina's challenge. Working with pencils really is fun, but it does take awhile. Like how the stenciling peeks from the bg for the frame of the image. It would be interesting to see your first layer. TFS

I just checked your first photo, the difference is incredible. I would have thought the glow effect came from the Inktense pencils....I can see I was wrong. Thanks so much for showing the extra photo Sabrina.

This is so adorable and beautiful! Loved your coloring. I initially assumed you had used a dp as base but glad I read the description. It matches so well with the image and the glitter around just adds to everything!

Oh this is so lovely! I love how you've coloured the images, I saw the underpainting you posted, and the depth and vibrancy of your end result is stunning! What a beautiful card!

Love your card, Sabrina! Your coloring is gorgeous! Just beautiful with the cutest mouse. I spent yesterday afternoon trying one of the tutorials, and after hours I did not like it. But I am going to try again today!! I won't give up yet.
