This started out as one challenge- featured stamper Diane aka HappyinMarco (FS550)and it evolved into a total of 5 challenges.
She has a fabulous gallery and I was inspired by Diane's psychedelic penguin found here: Psychedelic Penguin by HappyinMarco at Splitcoaststampers
In reading her description, Diane used words like 'funky' & 'hippy dippy'. As children, my sister and I used to refer ourselves 'Hippy Dippy Cool Cats'
This cat stamp certainly is all that & more!
I focused on Diane's bright colors for the image and soft background, which was a watercoloring bg I've had in my stash.
To the bright colors I included neon blue for the eyes, embellishments of gems, crown, a BOA (my faux bow; F4A391-Put A Bow On It), fussy cut the image & added sentiment.
I decided to add this to Lydia's August Monthly Inspiration challenge & Great Lengths found here: August 2017 - Great Lengths by UnderstandBlue at Splitcoaststampers
The cat stamp is 2pieces to include the 1) head/dress and 2) legs/shoes. Total height is 6 1/2".
I extended her neck by 1 1/4" by fussy cutting another piece of cardstock, coloring & outlining it in a black journal pen (.01) to mimic the stamp outline.
Pieced her together, added the embellishments and also a crown using foil paper, then heat embossed with copper EP and fussy cut and popped up on foam dot.
I then attempted to add shadowing (MIX238 Me and my shadow)
Using a standard pencil, I lightly added a small amount of shadowing below her head, bottom of skirt & shoes, back of legs, and under her propped elbow.
Stamped the sentiment by Tim Holtz and cut it in pieces.
Whew!! I think I covered all the details!! Lol
This was very time consuming but tons of fun!
This will go to a close friend who's had a life change and is courageous & strong... her first name starts with the letter "C"
Huge thanks & hugs to Diane, Susie, Lydia, Jeanne S., & Ky for all the fantastic inspiration!!

Yup, you hit the "funky" description for sure. Loads of fun. Thanks for being inspired by one of my cards. I am enjoying being a featured stamper. Lots of fun and happy input
------------------------------ How did I get along before I found this wonderful addiction?
I have made hundreds of cards and so many people say it has brought joy to their lives which, in turn, brings joy to my life. Almost everyone I give them to says that they always save me, which I consider a huge compliment.
