DD7ABCSUMMER: our card is to reflect something we did this summer. I have enjoyed watching the deer where we currently live since I'm not trying to grow anything!
In the back yard we have what, to me, is an ugly concrete block wall with pretty greenery draped over the top of the wall so I decided to make that wall. We often enjoy watching deer so I printed this clip art to represent the doe and fawn we've enjoyed watching.
I followed the tutorial to make the brick wall and sponged the bricks with smoky slate ink. I colored the deer with Prismacolor pencils, fussy cut, and popped them up.
I took the photo of the card while it was sitting on top of the inspiration wall.
Thanks for looking!

This brick wall technique is so neat. Love your trailing vines. Your pencil coloring looks great on your deer. This is really nice on the crumb cake too!

Gasp! What a gorgeous card this is Catherine. And one that truly honors the beautiful nature and animals you have in your own back yard. The vines you stamped on to these DIY bricks looks incredible. This is going right into my favs! ~Karen.

Oh, Catherine, your brick background is fabulous and the deer are awesome standing under the vines. I love the shadowing for the deer! Great response to the challenge, Catherine!

What a great idea having the greenery growing over the top of the wall to mimic your real back yard. It sure looks prettier than the brambles growing over our neck wall from the railway line. And how lovely to have deer to watch...once they are not eating your flowers. I love seeing them in our local park. Thanks for joining the TLC this week, Catherine.
