I saw a lovely card done by Nancy Endwright. Her graduation card had a tassle and a diploma on it. Thank you so much, Nancy, for the inspiration. I put my happy graduate in a stitched circle with a little bit of her foot outside the circle.
To do that "out of the box" technique, you must first stamp the image and that cut around the part outside of the circle then cut it out. I learned this several years ago from Brian King, who did that with a beak on a bird. Thanks, Brian.
Recently, Kelly Achison had a tutorial here on SCS for the basket weave. I had learned it many years ago, but then for lack of use, I forgot it. So, my classes have now 2 different months with the basket weave technique. And it's good to give a refresher, because they couldn't remember from one month to the next. Thank, Kelly. My classes have now requested a refresher on the basket weave at least once a quarter. The wooden "Congrats" was colored with the gold wink of stella.
Three of my young friends have graduated this year and are getting this same card with a "little something" inside.
Thanks for looking. Susie
