I'm working with limited supplies today and had to dig into my old, old, old stencils from the late 80s. Most of them were too big for an ATC, but I found a checkerboard that would work. The other "stencil" I used is just the negative from a butterfly punch. To make up for my limited supplies, I used the checkerboard in two ways. One was as a mask, with the ink going DTP. The second way I used it, was to trace the checkerboard pattern on the white squares. I didn't quite get it lined up, but liked the effect, so I kept it. I put the butterflies on top of the checkerboard, again using the ink direct to paper (DTP).
