Sympathy cards are not easy to make. This one was built around the flourish that I had cut out at a Craft Crop and not used (thank you Heather Cooper). I chose my color scheme around it and a piece of DSP with tiny little hearts on it. I cut out the two circles I needed for the sketch, then realized that the flourish kind of disappeared into the background. I needed a neutral to make it pop more. I chose Shimmery White to do that, and also used it for my sentiment. I used one of the Handpicked framelits to cut out the sentiment, turning it around to cut off the point and make a matching curve on the other end. I tucked it comfortingly into the petals on the flourish. I used Bitty Butterflies layered with little Butterflies from my Dollar Store punch. I made the third little Butterfly by trimming down the DSP to make it a little smaller. I used the Butterflies and some little hearts, cut out with the Owl Builder punch, to form the required detail on the outside of the circles. I added some Rhinestones for a little bling.

Eunice, I love the little circle of hearts and butterflies encompassing the centre and the way the sentiment tucks into the curves of the flourish. Thanks so much for joining us again at As You See It.

I like the way you've made the sketch into a backdrop for the focal point and not the focal point itself, Eunice. That flourish is a show stopper for sure! The little butterflies and hearts are emphasizing the overall shape of the whole sketch! Thanks for playing along again at As You See It Challenges!
