Polly challenged us to get out of our stenciling rut today. This was a great opportunity to try this technique that I had been thinking about for a little while. I have that spritzer sprayer thing that you put markers in and spray the color and I never use it. So I got the idea to spray in a stencil, but never got around to it until this challenge. I used a leaf stencil and sprayed in different shades of green and some yellow using my Tombows. But I couldn't fill in quite enough, so I sponged around the edges with Bamboo Leaves ink. Then I printed out the "Greeting from Freetown" sentiment. I figure it's as good a time as any to get a head start on my cards for the Freetown Historical Society fundraiser in September. It was a little boring, plus this is a mixed media challenge (the hardest one for me each week), so I did some wonky stitching around the border and added some baker's twine, because I forgot to add it for Robin's Free for All challenge. Then I went over the leaves with some Wink of Stella to jazz it up a little bit more.

I have one of those spritzer things, too but never thought of using it with a stencil...very creative..I like the bit of texture that it gives to your leaves. The wonky stitching is great and the twine a perfect way to embellish. Thanks for breaking out of your stencilling rut today
