This is one of my samples for this week's WTUI challenge - you'll find it sticked at the top of the WT forum HERE.
For this card I used the Herringbone Technique tutorial, adding a few pieces of Mizuhiki cord. I used some offcuts of green card to frame it and give it a neater edge. After putting a lot of time into a background I don't like covering it all up, so I chose a bare wreath die-cut and perched my little owl in it, then hung a banner from one of the twigs sticking out the side. The owl's body, below his "neck" was stamped with Geologic from IO, tone on tone.

Sabrina, this is sooooo cool!!! I love that you didn't cover up all that work!! I wouldn't even try this technique because neither of my paper cutters will cut straight!!! I am in awe!!!

OH I LOVE YOUR HERRINGBONE TECHNIQUE CARD!!! I knew I should have tried to cut my strips thinner, like you did - but I wasn't sure I could do them straight if I did. I love your owl - he is so cute! Love that wreath too!!

That owl in the wreath is so cute! And he looks so good against the herringbone BG. There are so many cool possibilities for backgrounds. People ask me how I can get up at 5:30 and make a card every day. But you all can relate--there are just SO MANY different cards to make!!!

Fantastic job on the Herringbone technique. Great paper selection and love that SU owl punch. I am going to have to try the technique as my MIL would love this on some cards. Super fun challenge today.
