This is my card for Carla's WTUI challenge, you'll be able to find the challenge HERE.
It was great to get DH's birthday card made and tucked away before we leave on holidays.
Image stamped on kraft, coloured with pencils and edged with a black marker.
Base was embossed with a chevron ef and sanded.
Next layer is two strips of duct tape stuck to light card and crimped. Now that I have a new crimper (thanks to Moddy Christmas ), I realise my old one must have been a total dog.
The four corner tiles were made using Dina's Faux Tin Tile tutorial. I used metal tape rather than foil, and a pale blue acrylic paint. And oh my, if Sansodor is meant to be a low odour solvent, I can't imagine a full-strength one. Even with the window open my attic smelled of it all day.
To finish, I stamped the birthday sentiment on black and embossed with silver, punched it out and added a brad.

This image is so darling Sabrina. I am sure DH is going to just love this for his birthday. I need to check out that tutorial for the faux tin tile. That looks great. I love the crimping on the duct tape too, great addition and would work very well for a tin roof too. Super cute card.

Wow, Sabrina, you really aced the challenge! The faux tin tiles and the crimped duct tape are a great touch. I'll have to try both techniques. Love the birthday sentiment as a tire for your adorable car. Thanks for the marvelous sample for the challenge!

I love all your background elements, Sabrina! The shadows of the crimping presented as stripes to me until I read your description, and I was actually thinking how cool that there was striped duct tape. The embossed birthday circle complements the image perfectly looking like a tire. Sweet card for your DH.

Sabrina, this is wonderful and your coloring is spectacular! You're better than me. My poor DH didn't get a birthday card because I couldn't get my act together to before we left on vacation last month! Enjoy!

Fabulous faux tin elements! The 4piece square tins are a girly with the swirls while the crimped duct tape looks like corrugated tin and masculine. Love your bear image driving his vintage roadster! Your DH will love it Sabrina!
