A friend commission this card for a friend of hers who just graduated from high school. She was very involved with the drill team in school, so my friend asked me to incorporate that and the school colors into the card. I found an image online of a drill team boot & hat. I printed that off, and traced it lightly onto a piece of white cardstock. I colored it with my Prismacolor colored pencils, adding some sparkle to the hat band with a blue glitter gel pen. To create the shaker, I cut a yellow panel, and used a flexible ruler to draw the wavy line on the top. I traced along one side of the ruler for the top line, & traced again along the other edge of the ruler, to make a 1/4" wide "line." I continued in this manner for another yellow & 2 blue panels. Then I cut out the openings with a craft knife. After I stamped & heat embossed the greeting onto a piece of heat-resistant acetate, I adhered my frames to that with Scor-Tape. I applied 2 layers of foam tape behind the frames, & filled the sections with blue & gold sequins. I adhered a piece of patterned paper to my A2 card base, & adhered that to my shaker panel.
