I LOVE the smack down technique.....it makes such a beautiful background. Once I'd finished the card it made me think of Anne of Green Gables and her red hair. I think I was around 10 when I read the book, and I remember her first 'pretty' dress was shades of cream and brown and I was so disappointed, because I thought it should be green or yellow or pink or blue. Little did I know that these neutral shades would wind up being my favourites!

Loved your write-up as well as your card. Oh, I used to love those books, though the first one I read by her wasn't Anne at all, it was Jane of Lantern Hill, also set on PE Island. I've thought of several of the cards today that the backgrounds would make the most beautiful floral print fabrics, and this is one of them. It's so elegant too, with the lace.
