The challenge is to use kids and pets. We had every living thing due to my brother: birds in a big outdoor cage, frogs, turtles, family dog. But never a cat. But I did own a cat for 18yrs. after I was married. I just picked up this stamp set at Tues. Morning, so it worked for this I thought. It is stamped on felt weave paper which has the look of w/c but is not w/c. I wasn't sure how much to color in so left some bare areas. TFL.

Shirl, you've created a lovey vintage card, the minimal touches of color are perfect. Tuesday Morning is one of my favorite stores and biggest weaknesses! Great find. Sounds like you had quite the menagerie growing up. Must have been interesting to have all those critters. Thanks for playing in the challenge and treating us to your lovely card.

What a sweet old-fashioned image, like a book illustration - I think the partial colouring is very effective in adding to that look. Yep, we had a few odd birds too, not just the jackdaw but a starling for a while too...

I love your vintage card - so sweet! The birds are a welcoming look on this!! It's like they want to hear the story too!!

Oh wow Shirl! What a gorgeous vintage card this is! I adore this charming scene you have colored perfectly. I love the addition of the birds, the use of these gorgeous designer papers and how you tied it all up so beautifully with twine. You took your new Tuesday Morning finds and made them sing my friend! ~Karen.
