I seem to be filling up my gallery with owls this last couple of weeks! I made this card to go with a recent blog post with owl photos from a visit to a raptor centre not too far from us.
I stamped the owl in dark brown on linen finish card and sponged. An old knitting needle (I love the bamboo ones for knitting, but in the end they get blunt and warped) provided the top and bottom for the scroll.
The base is crimped kraft, sponged with some distress inks and then painted with gesso. I added some Sue Wilson ivy and a not-so-little ladybug.

Lovely! There are so many textures here and it all works together wonderfully. I especially love the way you made that scroll!

Wow, I don't know where to look first, everything is so fabulous Sabrina. Your crimped background looks like genuine aged corrugated iron. I love the owl image stamped onto the scroll. The knitting needles are a stroke of genius. I tried to comment on your blog, but nothing has appeared yet. Your photos and story are terrific my friend. TFS.

Absolutely stunning, Sabrina. The linen paper with the sponged color looks like an old Asian scroll found in an obscure antique store. The corrugated bg is amazing and the touch of color from the lady bug is so pretty. Love it!!
