I never thought I'd make a card with a snake on it, but I never thought I'd find a snake in my HOUSE! This morning I started down the basement stairs and there IT was; maybe I was seeing things? My daughter's screams verified that it was indeed a snake. About 2 feet long, mostly black and moving verrrrrry slowly. I threw two bricks at it (yes, the kind houses are built of) but missed as it slithered back down the stairs verrrrrry slowly. It disappeared behind the washer, OMG. We called my husband who said "catch it and release it outside." What is he thinking??? He can risk his life trying to catch it when he gets home from work. In the meantime my daughter has barricaded the space under the basement door with towels, a heat saver, the garbage can and three cases of Pepsi. We'll keep our feet off the floor today!

OMG! I am crying laughing at your story! I hope your husband catches that thing when he gets home! Set out a heating pad or something warm to lure him out--snakes like heat. Haha! Well, I love your inspired card!

I just had to laugh!! First, I love Kokopelli calling the snake for some mischief!! Your card is fun. secondly, our #2 son always had snakes in his room, bureau drawers, in his little sister's bathroom under towels "keeping warm", and occasionally I'd find one in the washer and/or dryer that had been in his pockets. Once we had to pull up the carpeting on the stairs when one got loose and went under the rug. Our budding herpetologist became an English teacher. PHEW!

I really like your eye catching elegant card.
A black snake in the house climbing the steps is probably one of people's best friends either a black rat snake or a kingsnake. Both will rid your house of rats, etc, the kingsnake will also eat venomous snakes. Neither will hurt you if you leave them alone. To remove them use a hoe type implement and get the snake on it and take it outside or put it in a bucket and take it out.
I am a volunteer Docent at our zoo and the volunteer reptile specialist. Oh, snakes don't hear sound but feel vibrations.
