Today's theme is April Showers . . . I decided to re-visit a technique I had learned 20 years ago to make a rainy bg by simply spritzing bleach over a piece of cardstock so outside I went . . . The biggest problem with this technique is that you never know what color the underbase on the stock is until the bleach dries! The first 2 blues I tried turned GREEN - The next one was a rusty red - hmmm - I've heard of red tides but never red rain . . . Finally I spritzed a purply blue that actually left a soft shade of grey - Yeah! mist accomplished. Inside I went to stamp the jonquils into my mist & color with prisma pencils. I also stamped the sentiment into the mist and embossed with gold BUT it was TOTALLY lost. In order to salvage the card (and the time I had put into it) I stamped the sentiment again on some white scrap stock die cut a simple wavy border and mounted over the botched area. I hope this will still qualify as a CAS card even though I had to do more layering than planned.

Oh wow....worth the effort.....I love your rain. I haven't used bleach for a long time, but I remember that problem of never knowing what you were going to get. Lovely card!

...sure its got a catchy beat, but can you stamp to it?
life is something that happens only when you run out of cardstock
