Does anyone remember writing in lemon juice as a kid then using a lighter to heat it up to see a secret code? Well I do and I decided to do a similar secret code on my card with my technique. It was challenging to not touch the paper while writing to avoid smearing the writing but it was so much fun.
The BG on my card is a handwritten birthday poem that I wrote in Versamark then used white embossing powder and embossed. Using 4 different distress inks I colored the rainbow effect on the BG. Cut down the panels and layered finishing off with the home made candy dots.
I would love it if you would check out my Blog: Shoe Girls Cards.
Thank you for looking!

A gorgeous background with a special personal touch, perfect for creating a beautiful CAS card. Thanks for creating such a great and inspiring sample, Lisa- I see Carolyn already took inspiration from you.

Very pretty Lisa.... I'm never heard of the lemon trick.... The Versamark was a great way to do the challenge. The white embossing pops against your pretty sponged colors

Love your vivid rainbow colored bg to showcase the handwritten sentiment. You did a great job getting the secret message put to paper since with the watermark pen you were pretty much "writing blind".

Such a neat idea Lisa -- I love the pastel colors you created in the bg ... the sentiment itself is very nice -- this is a great card girl!!
