Anyone who has looked at my SCS gallery knows I'm in loved with aqua's of all shades and tints. So, I started out with a blue that looks similar to our own garden wheelbarrow, and went from there. The wheelbarrow is one of four "wheeled" devices in the Stampin' Up! retired 2006 stamp set titled "The Wheel Thing".
I wanted the barrow to be filled with flowers, so used the two small flower stamps from "Flower Patch". First I used a Post-It Note to mask off the barrow itself, then punched three 3/4" circle punches to use to mask the flowers after I stamped the first two larger blossoms. I just kept masking and stamping so that I ended up with the smaller flowers at the top.
The flowers "growing" around the wheelbarrow were also stamped with the smallest blossom and its matching stem from the same stamp set.
The two required "arrow" elements at the top were the hardest for me. I don't have the SU punch that makes them, so I used the inside of a square punch to make the points. The sentiment is from SU's "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set. The actual stamp says "Happy Easter", so I used masking tape to cover the word I didn't want stamped on each arrow, and inked the stamp up. Then removed the masking tape before stamping the word.
The background vertical element is a piece of the beautiful floral paper in the 2016 SAB "Wildflower Fields" Designer Series Paper. It has all colors of flowers on it, but I wanted the two ends that show above and below the main panel to show blue flowers. To manage this, I cut a long 1-1/2" strip, the trimmed it so that blue flowers were at the end of two pieces. I glued these two pieces down behind the main panel so that you wouldn't know that it's not a single piece of paper.
Finally, I felt the card needed something on the right. The sketch didn't have anything required there, so I wanted something subtle, but bold enough to balance the card. I chose SU's "Adorning Accents" embossing folder with the scallop pattern, and it's matching paper piercing template from SU's " Paper Piercing Pack Essentials" set.
The card base is a piece of Island Indigo measuring 4-7/8" x 9-7/8" that was folded in half to make a square card 4-7/8" on a side. I chose this size because I have a set of 5" square envelopes that will allow me to mail the card safely.
The card was very easy to do, but I rated it a difficulty "3" because of the masking required.
