First there was NO way I was going to be able to have a challenge having to do with flowers and NOT use the Floral Boutique DSP. I think I should just hoarder the paper now because it just might be my all time favorite DSP.
I followed the ‘Tealight Cake’ tutorial for this project which can be found at the link: Tealight Cake Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers
I really struggled this month picking a tutorial and executing a tutorial. I went through a couple of projects I just didnÂ’t like and I was frustrated, so in some ways I feel I took the easy route on this project but I do think it really allowed me to showcase this beautiful DSP. I think this would be a fun little gift to leave on a co-workerÂ’s desk on his/her special day. Who doesnÂ’t want to come in to the office in the morning to a little cake!
I kicked my little cake up a notch with Wink of Stella and added some to the main image on the card to tie the two together even more. I colored the center of the doily with Night of Navy to help the cake with the mostly white DSP stand out. I also love the teeny tiny pearls around the cake in the center of the Night of Navy flowers. I think adding these really made the candle look more like a cake.
