What a cool technique challenge this week. I love it, but I hate my shell. I took a square piece of cardstock and sponged Antique Linen and Tea Dye from the bottom to the top, then I watercolored Terracotta and Peach Spectrum Aqua onto it. After I scored it I brushed on some white Distress Paint with a dry brush and then added some spotty imperfections using Spectrum Noir FS2 and GB2 and white gel pen. I loved it until I tried to cut it into a shell shape. I should have drawn the shell shape and then cut, but I just went in with the scissors with no real plan and this is what I got. I think I'm going to have to redo it.
I'm using the sketch from the From the Heart Stamps "I {heart} sketches with a Twist" challenge 164. The twists were watercolor (check) and four colors (which were perfect for my buoys). I've used the Pelican by the Sea digi that I just won from sketch challenge 162--it was perfect for this card! http://fromtheheartstamps.com/commun...h-a-twist-164/ http://fromtheheartstamps.com/shop/b...ican&results=1

This must be the new shell because I see nothing wrong with it. I think it looks great. Love the pelican you added. Congrats on that win.

Gosh, I think you're being way too hard on yourself, I think the shell looks great. And if you think it doesn't, think of all the slightly broken and damaged shells that wash up on the seashore - hard to find a perfect one there. The shading of colour across it is fabulous, the added white gives a very realistic look. Love the pelican, too.

I'm with the girls above - I like the shell. I like how you applied different mediums to it to give it texture. Thank you so much for participating with us at From The Heart Stamps Sketch 164. We appreciate you joining us and hope you'll come back soon. Take care.

Are you kidding me? Your shell is perfect, I see nothing wrong with it at all. It looks like you picked it up off the beach. Love the layout of your card too.
