This is for Inspiration Challenge 583. I used THIS BEAD as my inspiration. Confession: I already had this Distress Resist BG sitting around and I knew there had to be a Murano bead that would have a similar feel and I think this one does. This is one of two cards I made using this "spotlight" technique (Spotlight on Love, get it?)with this stamp. I had two different color combos going and this gray/blue worked best with the BG. I actually am pretty happy with how this one turned out; the other one I'm not so sure of. And can I complain for a minute? I love this lace die, but why was it designed so that it absolutely can't be cut to an standard A2 card front without leaving a wonky edge on one end or the other? Hows about giving a passing thought to scale, die designers! Okay, rant over.
One very exciting thing about this card is that it is the very first time I have ever used washi tape! (Yes, my life is that pedestrian as to make this an event.) I only own four rolls of washi tape, all by Tim Holtz. I never saw the allure of it, but I think I just discovered a new obsession/addiction/money pit. :-0!
Thank you, Stef, for providing such a great inspiration source!
TFL!

Welcome to the world of washi!! Hehe...I just picked up some cool washi from Michaels..Jane Davenport..so cool! I love your card..the already made resist bg is beautiful and goes so well with that border die (I have that one as well)..And the stamp (which I also own!!) goes so well inside that heart. I like how you added the word inside the heart..so clever....lovely Valentine Robin!

Yes, the world of washi is a slippery slope (says she who started with Tim Holtz and now has a large drawer filled with wonderful washi) ... love the layers ... awesome inspired design.

Another remarkable card, Robin! I love the distress resist background that works great for representing your inspiration piece. I think the washi tape goes so well with the card. I'm not a fan of washi tape either, but it really adds a lot to your card!

I don't know which I enjoyed more, your card or your description. How I love your style! You can do that vintage look so naturally. Love that but sure can't do it easily. Had to laugh about the die too- I agree. As far as washi, I have four rolls here from a Tim Holtz class and they are brand new- never touched except once I used it to mask a border and use it to hold the hearing aid gate closed.
