For this month's Creative Crew's "Step It Up" Challenges, I created book covers for my catalogs using Designer Series Papers.
Remember how we used to fold paper bags to make our book covers for school? Well, I took that idea and adapted it for covering my catalogs. It's fun, cute, and a great way to show off the products when sharing catalogs
The Step One sample is the Sale-a-Bration mini-catalog. It took just one piece of patterned paper, folded and trimmed to size, then layered with some more card stock and patterned paper. Embellished and ribboned. (Not the traditional folding of a paper-bag cover, just a patterned paper cover.)
The Step Two sample is the Annual Catalog. This cover took a bit more measuring and folding to get the fit right. If you've done these before, you know how the fold is created at the edge to make a pocket for the cover pages. (More like a traditional paper-bag book cover.) It has similar layers to the front cover. The spine is strengthened with an additional strip of patterned paper. The ribbon is attached at the top inside, so that it may be used as a bookmark in the catalog (should have attached 20 of those!!).
