I made this water color piece almost a year ago. I was just doodling around with a scrap piece of water color paper, and when I was done with it, I just could not see any hope for it. This piece was thrown in the trash several times over the last 10 months or so, but for some reason, I kept pulling it out of the trash. To make this piece, I heat embossed each of the flowers and leaves. I colored each in using spectrum noir aqua pens, then I gave the entire piece several sprays of water and let all the colors run together. I did not like how the entire background turned green (even though green in my favorite color) so I kept wanting to scrap this. Well, recently, I needed a thank you card pretty darned fast so I pulled this out and decided this was a "make it work" moment. This piece of scrap was never square to begin with and no matter what I did, I was never able to get it square either (even using a t-square ruler). Since this card was being sent to a non-stamping friend, I decided distraction was the best way to pull this off, thus the black dazzles around the entire image panel. I used a bold die cut cut in black and I ran my clear wink of stella over the entire die so it is really sparkly (more distraction). My friend loved it so I am glad I did not scrap it now in the end.

Tickled to read your throw it in the trash and then fish it back out story! Loved hearing it. And there is the bold thank you die which is perfect on this. I think this turned out great and glad to hear your friend liked it!

This is gorgeous! I love the colors, those big, bold flowers... that beautiful watercolor background and the white embossing and the pops of black. Truly a piece of art here, my friend! I would have been tickled pink to get this. I would have put it in a frame! xoxo
