Watercolor art has become my passion, and while it is not my forte au naturel, it is just plain fun to dabble with it. For today's Inspiration Challenge, Audrie has asked us to be inspired by watercolor art, namely, Rachelle Levengston on Etsy. I was inspired by this watercolor peacock, *https://www.etsy.com/listing/2810096...home_active_30.
I started by masking my watercolor paper to create a natural border for the end result. I used a brush to wet the paper and turquoise, ultramarine, and emerald brushos manipulating with more water and the brush to dissolve the crystals and cover most of the paper surface. I used a paper towel to dab the edges where the water pooled and then used my heat tool to mostly dry it. Then using all the circle stamps I applied mustard seed, evergreen bough and faded jeans distress inks and sprinkling a little of the brusho powders to intensify the color. Once that was dry, I stamped the feather in black ink, then added a die cut feather from Night of Navy. I stamped the word dream in gold, which is really difficult to see I'm sorry to say. I only wanted the word wish so I masked the make a wish stamp with masking tape, then punched with the jewelry tag punch and dabbed the edges with distress stain. I used my piercing tool to make a hole and added the yellow twine.
This is also works for yesterday's MIX201 - Anything Goes.

lovely work and I am so happy you tackled that beautiful fowl!
I also enjoyed reading your process. I want to watercolor, but not sure I am willing to practice. Love your card.

I loved this peacock inspiration. You did a wonderful job of capturing the feel of the blended colors. Your feathers are the perfect image to bring the Peacock into the card! Lovely!
