My sweet sistah from anudder mudder Robin, spoiled me rotten and sent me this wonderful Sizzix die. I couldn't wait to use it!!!
It is a little known fact that Santa and his elves have a reindeer racing track at the North Pole. Here we have Poppy and her prize reindeer in the warm-up yard.
The background was made by spraying black Dylusions ink spray onto alfoil and then squirting on some ironing spray. This is going to sound weird, but the spray starch isn't as 'wet' as water and does not spread as far as water.
I just plopped an A4 sheet of cardstock onto the puddle and rubbed my hand over the back of the card. To work out what part of the cardstock to use, I placed acetate stamped images of the tree and fairy on the cardstock and also sat the reindeer on it.
I didn't want the tree to be a feature so I stamped it off twice before stamping on the card, I used a white gel pen in a few places.
This would not have been possible without my MISTI. I must have stamped Poppy about 10 times!! After stamping Poppy I pierced a hole above her top hand and two holes on her lower hand and threaded the twine into place.
Thank you for looking, I hope you have a happy weekend.

YOWZA! The placement of the cord is fabulous! Love this in black, something else I haven't tried. Your incredible work with Lavinia Stamps have more hooked quite a few of us! Love that background and no clue how you consistently get such great ones!
The use of the spray starch is brilliant but I have to ask, did you buy it to do this or do you really iron? I BOW to you if you iron!

Gasp! Jaw drop! This card just popped out of the gallery and when I saw your name I just smiled from ear-to-ear. Truly! This lovely fairy with the reindeer she lasso'd is just too precious! I literally did a double take when I read you used spray starch to make this background with. Whaaat? I have a friend who uses Future floor wax on her cards. I will have to mention the spray starch and see what she does with it. I would never think to use these items in a million years. LOL. Your background is stunning and I love the subtle tree you added to this scene too. I especially love the magical quality of this gorgeous card and I know Robin will too! ~Karen.

Totally awesome, Susie. The black, greys and white look spectacular. The fairy paired with the deer is such a nice look...way better than the typical Santa. I can't wait to try the ironing spray to make a bg...you sure have great ideas.

I just love this little fairy tale. Another spectacular background Susie - it looks so misty and foggy. Guess that is why Poppy could sneak up on the reindeer. I just have to find some time to myself to play around with my collection of Lavinia stamps - that are just waiting to be inked up.

This looks like a page from a fairy story in those black and white tones with the silver cord. What a wonderful gift from sweet Robin, and what a beautiful creation to christen the reindeer. I used up all my starch on Robin's DTGD challenge and keep forgetting to buy more, now I know that I need to go and actually write it on my shopping list.
