Watercooler Wednesday Color Challenge #93: http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.com/ that required the use of Whisper White, Real Red, Soft Suede, Old Olive and Basic Black.
I'm always in desperate need of masculine birthday cards, so when I saw this week's color challenge, I didn't think Christmas, but camo! I love the SU Roughing It stamp set, so using the Freshly Made Sketch the card seemed to organically evolve as I went along!
I didn't have Soft Suede in my card making supplies, but I love Crumb Cake, which is a bit lighter, so adapted my design accordingly. The other color change was that with all the brown, Whisper White seemed too screaming in contrast, so used SU's Very Vanilla cardstock for the circle element instead. Again, close in color, but not the same.
I wanted something "woodsy" feeling to back up the boot circle element, so used the Swirly Scribbles thinlits for both the boot and the sentiment diamond.
Of course, the boot-print stamp from Roughing It was perfect to add interest to the background panel, so I stamped it randomly using Crumb Cake ink.
I think any guy would appreciate this "manly" birthday card, and am pleased how the FMS sketch and WWC colors came together so well!

Hi Donna, great use of the colours on hand. Your colours work together beautifully and certainly comply with the essence of the challenge. Love that hiker's boot and the Swirly black around the circle. The camo effect and those footprints in your background really add a lot to this card. Great idea. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

This is a fabulous card! Love the shoe print "specialty paper" and the scribbles work so well with this. Thanks for sharing with us at Freshly Made Sketches!
What imaginative use of the Swirly Scribbles die as background to the boot, Donna! Using the boot print to create you background is genius. The colours work perfectly with your card theme. So glad you joined in my colour challenge this week for Watercooler Wednesday! ~Deborah
